Dog and dolphins, who’d have thought?
We love dogs, we love dolphins, and seeing them as pals brings a warm fuzziness. Seeing them nose to nose in emails breaks the monotony of those endless too-cute cat pics.
Curious friends, or are the dogs challenging potential prey and the cetaceans just after fish? Googling "dog+dolphin" returns only few images, shown below, but a plethora of videos that fall short of the mark.
We contend low-resolution images used by SheepOverboard to illustrate commentary - with attributes including source-URLs, hosted on servers in the United States - qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law.
Such encounters make us stop and wonder. This telling demonstration of interspecies contact is something we sadly know will unlikely happen between us and off-planet beings.
So instead of hypothesizing and chasing dreams, shouldn’t we realise our crowded planet is brimming with opportunity to experience the thrill of exotic interaction? Speaking meaningfully with animals and, of course, artificial beings, looms imminent via technology.
Taken for granted since the dawn of time, non-verbal exchange between human and all species has enriched our lives in ways barely acknowledged or imagined, despite its immense significance.
